About.

Sophie Toulouse is a freelance illiustrator who bases herself in both New York and Paris. She chooses to create her works of art by hand and also on the computer. It has been said that 'the work of Sophie Toulouse can be interpreted as a critique of an increasingly global and totalitarian capitalist system.'.

Harper.

This is absolutely amazing and really inspiring. I have to admit that I properly looked into this artists work after I had created my own, but I can confidently say that I would have chosen to do something based on this idea. I think the woman subject has been hand drawn but the wildlife is computer based. It is simple yet very effective.

Unknown.

I am actually speechless, how does someone come up with such an idea? I have noticed that there is always at least one strip of human form included in this series. Perhaps she is expressing her view on peoples personalities or just creating obscure works of art. It really reminds me of those times in art when I was young and we made images out of lots of ripped up one, yet much better and thought through. This is probably made up of different layers and the pieces of paper are maybe scanned in.

The reason I'm drawn to this piece is because I really like how it is her clothing that holds the greater detail, rather than her form. Again, this looks like the figure has been drawn by hand and then bits of scanned in, textured paper, have been applied using a computer program such as photoshop.
